The sound of your usual car accident is nothing like what it sounds like in the movies. I’ve heard enough of them at this point know that they all sounds different and yet they all sound the same. Kind of a metallic smoosh.

This accident was just a minor one, airbags but no injuries, and a neighbor is directing traffic since it’s in the middle of the road (a police officer drove by and ignored it?). I can’t really figure what happened except that I live in Richmond, CA and someone likely did something stupid.

Unmarked police cars are not obligated to stop for accidents, if it was a marked car, then they may have been responding to something else, or driving by to check for injuries, and if none, they may have been near the end of their shift.

That’s at least according to the ex police chief of the town I used to work in telling me about his son who’s a state trooper.

Gotta love the guy at 1 min who checks his car before anything else.

Last accident I witnessed was a month or so ago, basically the same the semi at 1:40. Except where I can give the semi the benefit of a doubt as to whether or not they could actually see the compact, this was between 2 midsize SUVs and I know the driver at fault could have seen the car he merged into just by looking right.
